How to Teach Knife Skills

Teaching knife skills to students is one of the trickier parts of teaching kids how to cook. It definitely takes time and is not for the faint of heart! We created this lesson that includes videos and images as well as a drag and drop activity on Google to help us teach the concept of knife skills. My husband is a chef turned culinary teacher and created some wonderful videos to help teach his students the different types of knife cuts.

Here is a preview of the presentation in Knife Skills that we use. After the presentation students answer questions. In our bundle of resources we also have a drag and drop activity for students to complete using Google. They drag the name of the parts of the knife onto a knife to show comprehension.
